WATCH: Maria Cognetti testified before the House Judiciary Committee re PA’s Shared Custody Bill

On December 9, 2019, Maria Cognetti testified about the pitfalls in the presumption of the proposed shared custody bill. Among many of her concerns are the burden of proof for a parent seeking primary custody, the removal of both partial and primary physical custody, and the removal of sole legal and sole physical custody. Maria believes the proposed bill should be child-focused. Instead, the bill is parent-centric and it puts the parents’ rights ahead of what is best for the child.
